Debora Sperandio

What I've been up to

Studying product design since 2014, I started working with graphic and industrial design in 2016, and moved to the digital design in 2018. Since then, everyday I have been translating high-level ideas into engaging experiences, unique visuals, and interactions to create exceptional products.

As a industrial designer I stayed most of the time in scientific research, from solar boats to health devices and from furniture development to electronics. I published three articles in the field and submitted a creation patent.

I moved to the UX and UI world as an intern (2018), when I researched and implemented interfaces for electronics products in Superior Institute of Engineering of Porto.

Then I entered RD Station, to work at RD Station CRM (2018), in all stages of discovery, development and delivery. Also working to implement a new Design System.

Later I joined Jumia (2022), to work for Jumia Mall, the biggest e-commerce in Africa, to lead all stages of discovery, development, and delivery for the web, mobile, iOS, and Android apps. Here I was also able to work implementing a brand new design system and exercising my leadership skills helping to structure best practices for the design team.

Future thinking

I have a lot of fields of interest, and of course I’m really enjoying myself and learning in this design journey. But I mainly have a passion for Design Operations, and thinking about building a great workspace so everyone can fully have their best abilities used in the right place makes me really motivated. This is where I’m specialising and planning to grow.
